Creating A Website

One of the reasons why the shared hosting services are common with people is the fact that most of the technical aspects of the hosting is done by the host. Since most of the self taught website developers have limited knowledge on the workings of the web hosting they do appreciate this simple fact. The time it takes one to complete a set up of a site is far much lesser than that required for a package that allows one to fully control the capacities of the site. The process is even cheaper on the low functionality level since there are a lot cheaper control panels available for one.

Shared web hosting is achieved by two methods; name based and IP based. In the name based hosting the sites are set up sharing a common IP address but under different names. This type of hosting has its own disadvantages and most of the sites cannot be used as secure sites since the IP address cannot be shared once secured. The name based shared hosting usually relies on the input on the browser to access a specific site this is one way to easily save one’s finances once they have established an IP address.

The IP based shared hosting relies on the IP address that is issued by the web hosting service provider and since each site is issued a different and specific IP address the type of hosting is also known as dedicated IP hosting. The server is served with software that enables it to distinguish the site that a given address is requesting information form. This form of hosting allows the site to easily use the secure sockets layer and thus is quite efficient if one is looking to set up an ecommerce site.
